The built-in Bluetooth is also a worth a shot at purchasing the device, and you can use it to download tracks and save them on its memory. With an available micro SD card slot, you can input one and save up to 200+ tracks on the device.

Alternatives:

The Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx hand-held GPS navigator can be a good alternative to the Garmin 64st. With similar features to its “brother” it is quite a good gadget to own. Between the two, the 64st has a more detailed base map and recognizes small roads alongside major ones, while the 60CSx only recognizes major routes.

However, when it comes to usage, between the two, 60CSx wins the trophy. With two to three times more battery longevity, you can enjoy its GPS services for a longer time period. The 60CSx has the design for an experienced hiker, while one can’t really say the same about the 64st.

Verdict:

Generally, Garmin GPS devices are not really the best when it comes to GPS gadgets. On the other hand, the GPSMAP 64st has cool features which are favorable for hiking and climbing locations. With a high GPS sensitivity, you will always be on track and chances of losing your way are minimal. With a clear screen display, it offers the visibility to see where you are, where you came from, and where you’re heading.
